We are writing to invite you to become a Fellow of the RSA (Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce). This is following a recommendation from Paul Herrington FRSA. Your nominator made the following statement in support of your application:
“If so I would like to recommend RUTH TRAVERS FLCM, the founder of STAVE HOUSE, a music based programme introducing youngsters of all ages and abilities to the skills of reading and making music.
Much of her work is Primary based, but the interest in the programme and success that it has gained in schools is progressing. The London College of Music have now opened up exams for children to be assessed/examined in using the programme.
I believe that Ruth’s thinking and demagogic skills could be used in helping Music to be seen as an important part of children’s development (musically, educationally and socially) in the Primary Education system.
Her programme was deemed to be of such high regard that she was awarded the FLCM , under the auspices of the University of West London.”
